William and Kate must not 'forget or forgive' what Harry and Meghan did, biographer claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said “awful things” about Prince William and Princess Kate, both of whom should not “forget or forgive” their actions, a royal biographer claimed.

For a brief period, the Sussexes and the Waleses appeared to get along just fine. The Fab Four, as they were once affectionately known, were spotted out and about on royal engagements filled with smiles and laughter.

However, Harry and Meghan’s momentous decision to step down from royal duties in 2020 exposed a faultline in the relationship.

The Sussexes spent the next few years taking aim at the royal institution from the comfort of their California home.

William and Kate found themselves in the firing line as they sought to expose the inner workings of the Royal Family.

According to Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, Kate and William would be “well advised to stay away from Harry and Meghan”.

He told Express: “They can only do them harm. Harry and Meghan have only said awful things about William and Kate. Why on earth should William and Kate forgive them?”

In Mr Bower’s opinion, the Sussexes would simply “abuse” the relationship again if they patched things up with William and Kate.

He continued: “They would just use it to hit back again. They’re so selfish, Harry and Meghan. They only think of themselves. They only think of how they have been harmed. They never think that when they told all their lives to Oprah Winfrey or in his [Harry’s] book Spare; his terrible accusations against William and Kate and against Camilla, it was just shocking behaviour. Why should anyone forget what he did or forgive him?”

The royal biographer is referring to the now-infamous TV interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where Meghan insinuated a member of the family was racist towards her.

William and Kate demanded the Palace issue a strong response to the bombshell interview, which threatened to engulf the whole institution in a race row.

While the family was keen to avoid a “tit-for-tat” exchange with Harry and Meghan, William and Kate were keen to set the record straight, it has been claimed.

“They wanted it toughened up a bit,” the insider told Valentine Low, author of Courtiers. “They were both of one mind that we needed something that said that the institution did not accept a lot of what had been said.”

The final blow came in January of this year, when Harry released his tell-all memoir, Spare.

The Duke’s autobiography makes claims that portray William and Kate in a negative light.

Harry claimed his brother physically attacked him as their relationship frayed over his marriage to Meghan.

In another passage, Harry claimed Kate made his wife cry over bridesmaids dresses ahead of their 2018 wedding.

Given Harry and Meghan’s behaviour, “I would not be surprised” if William and Kate want nothing to do with them, Mr Bower said.
