Wild CCTV footage reveals moment goats outwit bear in life-or-death struggle

The goats’ owner Julia had returned from the gym when she discovered that her two goats had been the target of bear attack.

A video of the incident shows the two goats running for their life across the woman’s back garden as they are being pursued by the giant predator.

Julia, who lives in Massachusetts, said: “They are very much alive and unharmed. Thankful I didn’t come home to a goat massacre.

“You’re allowed to laugh at the cartoon essence that the video is giving.”

Julia had returned home from work and then the gym when she heard that the bear was seen in the neighbourhood.

She went outside to check her animals and found that the fence to the goats’ pen had been broken.

Julia began to panic but as she turned around she spotted the two goats goats Ingrid and Piper staring at her.

She said: “I turn around and I see my goats just looking at me like: ‘Hey, where’ve you been. You’ll never believe what happened.’

“They weren’t even touched, no cuts, no scrapes.”

Julia thinks that they survived because they hid in her lawn furniture or ran into it, causing it to clatter and scare off the bear.

She said: “Our [me and my mother’s] theory is that the goats ran into the patio furniture and it made a big ruckus.

“They [bears] don’t like loud noises.”
