Why does nobody want the 'perfect' dog that deserves to be ‘treated like a princess'?

An animal charity says it is struggling to explain why it has failed to find a home for a “super friendly” dog it describes as “near to the perfect” pet.

The charity says that it cannot wait to see “this special girl all tucked up on her very own sofa in her very own home” and describes the boxer dog as “friendly, playful and goofy”.

The dog, Judy, is around three years of age, and the Rotherham-based charity Helping Yorkshire Poundies says she deserves to be “treated like the princess she is”.

In a heart-rending online appeal to find Judy a new home, the charity posted: “She is so friendly, playful, goofy and looooves her cuddles!

“Judy is house trained, travels well, can be left alone for a few hours with no problems (she loves her comfy bed!) and is just a star!”

It revealed how Judy was recently found a new home, only to be returned less than 24 hours later because she was “strong on the lead”.

That was despite the charity saying  she walks “beautifully” in a head collar if needed.

The charity added: “Judy really is as near to the ‘perfect’ dog as you will meet – she’s super friendly with everyone, she’s fine with other dogs out and about (she needs to be the only pet), totally clean and calm in the house, absolutely fine to be left and travels well.

“As she’s quite a big girl, she can be strong on lead, but not at all unmanageable, so she will need a home who have the strength to handle her if she does pull.

“We honestly cannot understand why no one wants her – she really doesn’t deserve this.”

It added that Judy can be rehomed with children aged 10 plus and needs to be the only pet in the house.

“We really can’t wait to see this special girl all tucked up on her very own sofa in her very own home,” it said. “She needs to be treated like the princess she is!”
