A woman was spotted hilariously trying to paint over a shadow in a video which has sparked an online frenzy. The clip, posted with a simple, yet cheeky caption of “who’s going to tell her?”, has garnered close to 24 million views, such 7is the ridiculousness of the situation.
The video begins with a young blonde woman kneeling down and swiping at the wall with her paintbrush. Painting the wall white, she gradually reaches over to a darker section and starts brushing harder.
The video continues on in silence, although the rest of us are erupting in laughter behind the screen – and you would assume the person behind the camera is stifling theirs too.
The woman sits back up and looks questioningly at the wall, wondering why her hard work isn’t coming to fruition. She then goes back to work, but even harder this time. Nevertheless, the dark stain remains.
The dark spot is in fact the shadow of the bannisters of her stairs. You can even hear the person behind the camera letting out a little chuckle at the end. The viral video has clocked up 83,000 likes and 7,100 reposts. Despite the caption, not everyone could immediately spot her error.
One person replied saying: “I don’t even know what she’s doing wrong, looks perfectly fine to me”. Another asked the simple question: “What are we telling her?” Stephen Watkins, meanwhile, was also none the wiser. He said: “Sorry but the only blonde thing I can see is that she doesn’t have paint to dip the roller in.”
Luckily for the woman in the video, one person spotted her mistake, and let her know what she was doing wrong: “Very funny. Someone please tell her she can’t paint a shadow”. Another account even cheekily suggested that the person behind the camera should “give her grey paint so it’ll match the shadow”.
