Where is Ray Teret now? What happened to Jimmy Savile's flatmate and accomplice?

His death on 5 May was confirmed by HM Prison Service, which said: “As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”

A “do not resuscitate” order was in place when he was found unresponsive in bed during a routine medical check at about 11.15pm on May 4.

In a statement read out in court, Dr Alex Adelakun, from North Manchester General Hospital, gave Teret’s cause of death as ‘advanced terminal colon cancer’.

Teret’s victims welcomed his conviction and sentencing in 2014, saying that they felt “vindicated” and “relieved” after decades of suffering in silence. They also praised the police for their investigation and support.

One of the victims said: “He took my childhood away from me. He took my trust away from me. He took my innocence away from me.”

Detective Sergeant Carol Barlow of Greater Manchester Police described Teret as “a devious, manipulative sexual predator” who abused his celebrity status in the worst way imaginable. She said: “The girls he preyed upon were naive and inexperienced and in awe of who he was.”
