A house renovator’s rite of passage is to find something left behind by the previous owners. Sometimes it’s something entirely innocent such as an old newspaper or postcard – but in the case of one pair of UK homeowners they made an altogether more creepy discovery.
The couple are in the midst of renovating a 1960s house and sharing their experiences to their TikTok account @stonestack_renovation. Up in the eaves of the property the houseowner found a boarded up area part that was hiding a secret – a mysterious silver suitcase.
In the clip that’s now been viewed 4.6m times the mystified property owner reveals what the suitcase contained – but not before finding out that it is potentially worth a bit of cash.
She said: “The first thing that we noticed was the case had a brand name of Rimowa and we had no idea what make that was and that we’d give it a bit of a Google. And it actually turns out that is now owned by Louis Vuitton and it is a vintage case so we were pretty pleased with that and you’ll probably see it on ebay some time soon.”
However that’s where the niceties ended as finding out what the case actually contained totally freaked the couple out – it was hiding a “very disturbing doll”.
She said: “It was light so we didn’t think it was a dead body alongside the super obvious points of there being no hideous smell and there were no flies either.
“So within the first case there was in fact another case that was also the brand of Rimowa – my dog came up at this point and was acting a little bit weird. I think he was a little bit scared to see what was in there.”
“Within this case was a strange doll. I mean it’s nothing from a horror movie or anything out of the ordinary but it is a really strange doll – I think it could be a collectable. I’m not entirely sure but it is a little bit weird. Especially because it was strapped in.”
The homeowners weren’t alone in their fear of the suitcase’s contents.
One said: “Could be a haunted or cursed doll and that’s why it’s locked away”.
Another said: “Keep us updated on what you have awoken please”
“Na they locked it in there for a reason we only just got into 2024 pleaseeeee put it back,” said another.
