‘We dropped the kids off at school then went on a crazy 24-hour Ibiza trip for just £81’

Two mums have given new meaning to the school run – dropping their kids off and jetting off to Ibiza for a 24-hour birthday trip.

Single mum-of-two, Michelle Tocchini and her pal Tanya McElligott, both 38, managed the incredibly quick getaway earlier this month.

Michelle, a beautician, and Tanya, a hairdresser, dropped their kids off at school on October 17.

They caught a Ryanair flight from Stansted that same afternoon – and when they landed partied until the early hours before spending the next day recovering by the pool.

And the pair – who were celebrating Michelle’s birthday – were back and ready to brace another school drop off on October 19th, reports MailOnline.

Michelle said: “Our time was so limited, without much childcare, so it worked really well.

“It was just like going to London for a big night out – but we would have spent more money there without even leaving the UK.”

She added: “I do like doing things spontaneously but my hands are tied more because of my children.”

The two mums, from Hereford, managed to find flights and accommodation on an absolute shoestring – setting them back just £81 each.

The Ryanair flights were £48 return and the hotel £33 a night including breakfast.

They now say they’re planning to do it all again – but next time in Amsterdam.

Michelle’s parents had picked her sons, aged seven and 11, up from school. They stayed there overnight while she was away.

Michelle and her friend had read a similar story about a 24-getaway and were inspired.

The quick getaway follows the journeys of two other mums who had the day off of their lives when they popped over to Lanzarote for a wild day out for just £23.

After making their kids’ packed lunches, the pair set off for the round trip of 2,500 miles and were back in bed by 12.30am the following morning.

Mother-of-four Rebecca, 38, wrote: “Well my weekend’s on the up because I’ve just booked a £23 flight to Spain for the day to blow off the January blues – me and the bestie – the packed lunch is made for the kids on Monday and I’ll be back at midnight!”

With the flights costing less than a train from Liverpool to Sheffield, the pair enjoyed several cocktails together and had brunch followed by a dip in the sea.
