Watch moment Israel forces launch attack on Hamas terrorists as ground operation looms

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shared a new video showing the operations it conducted against Hamas over the past 24 hours.

For the second time this week, Israeli troops revealed they have entered the Gaza Strip to carry out targeted raids ahead of an expected full-scale ground operation.

The military said the raids were launched on the outskirts of Gaza by ground troops supported by fighter jets as well as unmanned drones.

During the operations, the IDF is said to have struck anti-tank missile launch sites, command and control centres and Hamas terrorists.

While the IDF suggested Hamas reported casualties as a result of their attacks, it said its own troops exited the area after ending the raids without reporting any injuries.

The 51-second-long video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows armoured vehicles moving one behind another.

Footage from above also shows targets being identified and shot.

A barrage of explosions also resulted in the destruction of several buildings, with smoke and fire rising shortly after from the ground.

This offensive was the latest of a series undertaken in preparation for an expected more sustained ground offensive.

Last week, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel will be involved in three phases when it comes to its war on Hamas, with the goal of establishing a “new security reality”.

The first phase, he said, is already underway and involves the destruction of Hamas military infrastructure through airstrikes.

The second phase will include “lower density” operations and aim to “destroy pockets of resistance”, Mr Gallant continued.

The last phase will “require the removal of Israel’s responsibility for life in the Gaza Strip, and the establishment of a new security reality for the citizens of Israel”.

While it is widely expected Israel will soon launch a ground operation, Tel Aviv hasn’t shared a timeframe.

Mr Gallant, speaking to military personnel on October 20, suggested the attack would be launched soon, as he said: “Whoever sees Gaza from afar now, will see it from the inside.”

Over the past few days, Israel has been building up troops, calling in hundreds of thousands of reservists, and amassing military hardware including armoured bulldozers and tanks near the Gazan border.
