Watch: Just Stop Oil climate crusader sits on floor during bizarre Sky News interview

A Just Stop Oil activist caused quite a stir during an interview with Kay Burley on Sky News after she sat on the floor of the TV studio during a live broadcast in a bizarre move.

Zoe Cohen, a spokesperson for the group, was joined on the panel by fellow environmentalist Rupert Read when she shocked viewers with her unexpected antics.

She claimed in the interview that unless climate crusaders did things that were “slightly transgressive”, ordinary Brits will not give their campaign any attention.

The activist proceeded to sit on the floor and say: “So if I do this, Kay, if I sit on the floor in the studio, it is a bit different isn’t it and it might get noticed because I am transgressing the rules of an interview.”

The vegan business coach from Cheshire continued: “People don’t normally do this in an interview, do they?

“But it’s completely non-violent, I am not threatening anyone, but it is a bit different. It is an analogy right, we have to do things that are different to make people notice.

“When you do things that are the same and don’t get attention, they don’t cause a national conversation.”

The interview comes after the eco-warriors undertook a week of intensive protests, with activists from all over the UK descending on the capital to slow-march through the streets.

Several videos captured enraged commuters confronting the protesters, including one in which a man appeared to punch and kick an activist in a busy West London street.
