Vladimir Putin's ally suggests destroying Elon Musk's Starlink satellites in nuclear rant

One of Vladimir Putin’s key allies has suggested taking out Elon Musk’s satellites before commencing a nuclear war with NATO.

Vladimir Solovyov, a State TV host, made the shocking comments on his show ‘Full Contact’.

Julia Davis of the Daily Beast shared a video online with the caption: “Meanwhile in Russia. Vladimir Solovyov brainstormed about what else the Kremlin could do to harm the United States, like arming the Houthis and anyone else who is targeting US military bases and ships. He also suggested destroying Elon Musk’s satellites.”

In the clip, Solovyov is heard saying: “For some reason, NATO members have a feeling, as one Czech commander said, that they are ready for a war with Russia and this war will be waged with non-nuclear means. Why? Because this is what they want?

“For starters, conduct testing. Really blow up a bomb to show them something, so that everyone can see it.

“One million pieces of ammunition! Emptying their own stockpiles. This is what Europe is calling for right now. This means Europe is naked! Right now, they have no ammo.

“If someone doesn’t understand they’re at war with us, listen to our people on the front lines. They have no doubt whatsoever who is confronting us. Strike [NATO] headquarters!”

Musk deployed Starlink to help communications in Ukraine during the war. However, he has threatened to withdraw Starlink communications at various stages of the war, angering Ukraine.

Fighting between Ukraine and Russia has rumbled on since Kyiv’s underwhelming counteroffensive of 2023.

While the war has largely reached a stalemate ahead of Russia’s next offensive, Ukraine secured a big win after sinking a Russian warship in the Black Sea.

Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (GUR) shared footage online of the drone strike taking out the Ivanovets, a Tarantul-class missile corvette.

GUR said in a statement: “As a result of a number of direct strikes to the hull, the Russian vessel sustained critical damage causing immobilisation – it heaved aft and sank.”

Last month, Ukraine also shot down two of Vladimir Putin’s most prized spy planes worth £290million. One was a £260million spy plane while another was a £30million bomber jet. They were downed over the Sea of Azov in near Ukraine.

According to reports, Putin’s forces have lost 9,195 artillery units, 974 multiple-launch rocket systems, 663 air defence systems, 332 warplanes, and 324 helicopters since the war began in February 2022.

Ukraine is set to be handed another boost after the EU passed a €50billion (£43billion) funding package for Kyiv despite opposition from Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Orban U-turned at the last having held up the military support since December.

Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, said he had “nothing nice” to say to the Hungarian leader while French president, Emmanuel Macron added: “The message is clear, Russia cannot count on any fatigue from Europeans in their support for Ukraine.”

European Council President, Charles Michels, announced the deal by posting on X: “We have a deal. #Unity All 27 leaders agreed on an additional €50bn support package for Ukraine within the EU budget.

“This locks in steadfast, long-term, predictable funding for #Ukraine.

“EU is taking leadership & responsibility in support for Ukraine; we know what is at stake.”
