Vladimir Putin baffles internet sleuths who spot weird detail in latest public appearance

And this latest appearance in the country’s capital has seen more claims emerge due to his appearance.

One X, formerly Twitter, user wrote: “Body double with cheek implants.”

A second claimed that Putin had an “injection to lift and fill them out” before adding it was clear the person was “an actor”.

Meanwhile, a third added: “That’s ‘Oval face Putin’ which is a double of the real Putin sent (still sends) out during COVID-19.”

However, others were not convinced as one claimed Putin in fact was suffering with a condition called “moon face”.

They wrote: “Common side effect of long-term use of steroids(not anabolic steroids), usually prednisone. Pretty distinguishable.”

Another added: “By the look of the small bruise above the cheek, this is fresh filler.

“I wonder what he really looks like without all the cosmetic enhancements?”

Wild theories about Putin are not uncommon, and in the months since Russia waged war on Ukraine, swathes of misinformation have emerged online.

Among them included a General SVR report that said Putin had in fact died last month and a coup was underway in the corridors of the Kremlin.

The video from October 25 said: “Attention! There is currently an attempted coup in Russia!

“Russian President Vladimir Putin died this evening at his residence in Valdai. At 20.42 Moscow time, doctors stopped resuscitation and pronounced death.”

The channel said that as a result of Putin’s death his doppelgänger and Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev had taken control of Russia.

The claims were rubbished by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who described them as “absurd information canard” and “fake news”.
