Vile tennis coach sexually assaulted student, starting when she was just 12 years old

A former tennis coach is facing jail time after being convicted of a series of sexual crimes against a student, who was 12 when the abuse started.

Terry Y. Kuo, 32, of Colts Neck, New Jersey, was found guilty on 14 charges following a two-week trial as the prosecution called him “incomprehensibly manipulative and predatory”.

One student told officers Kuo had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions between August 2016 to November 2017.

The girl testified to court that her teacher had showered her with gifts and coerced her into sexual activity.

Cops uncovered child sexual abuse material on Kuo’s electronic devices, as well as evidence of sexual crimes committed against the victim, the Office of the Monmouth County Prosecutor said.

The court also heard Kuo had given expensive electronics, jewelry, designer clothing and accessories to his victim.

Kuo was arrested in Marlboro, New Jersey, in November 2017 and initially indicted in February 2018.

In total, the jury found Kuo guilty of:

  • Two counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault
  • First-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child via Manufacture of Child Sexual Abuse Materials
  • First-degree Kidnapping
  • Three counts of second-degree Sexual Assault
  • Second-degree Endangering via Manufacture of Child Sexual Abuse Materials

  • Third-degree Obscenity
  • Fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact
  • Fourth-degree Conspiracy to Commit Evidence Tampering.

Sentencing in the case has been scheduled for December 1 and Kuo could face a term of up to life in state prison.

“We sincerely thank the jury for carefully weighing the facts and reaching the appropriate conclusion.”

. He currently remains detained at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) in Freehold Township.
