Victory for Brexit Britain after Spain snubbed over Jaguar Land Rover gigafactory

The UK is braced to win a post-Brexit battle with Spain, as Jaguar Land Rover is finalising plans to host a multi-billion-pound electric car battery plant in Somerset.

Britain was battling it out with the European nation to host the plant, which has been described as the most significant investment in the UK automotive industry since the 1980s.

As many as 9,000 jobs are expected to be created as a result of the investment.

The boss of Jaguar Land Rover’s owner, Tata, is said to be flying to London next week to finalise the deal.
