US Navy awards Rolls-Royce $21.4m contract

The US Navy has awarded Rolls-Royce a $21.4million contract to build and deliver eight AE1107C engines for their V-22 Osprey helicopters.

The work will be carried out in Indianapolis and is expected to be completed by November 2024. Exact funds of $21,473,824 will be paid to Rolls-Royce Corp, in what is a firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract.

The V-22 Osprey helicopter is a tiltrotor military aircraft, which combines the vertical take-off and landing capabilities of a helicopter with the speed and range of a conventional fixed-wing aircraft. Rolls-Royce had previously secured an $115.6million, in 2020, for ship engines, propulsion components and services.
