A seaside town in Cornwall has been dubbed the “most depressing place to live in Britain” by a poll on iLiveHere, despite being a popular holiday spot for Brits.
Falmouth, which is a five-hour drive from London and where the average house price is £395,000, was described as “bland, boring, soul destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void”.
The usual suspects of Peterborough, Luton, and Swindon also received harsh reviews, but it was Falmouth that took the dubious honour of top spot.
This may come as a surprise given its sandy beaches and charming historic streets, but the number of empty homes for half the year due to second homeowners may have contributed to this result.
Locals say their town is lovely with lots to see, but some spots make it look bad.
