The Ukrainian military has released a chilling video providing a glimpse into an assault launched by its troops against Russia.
The video, which hasn’t been independently verified, shows members of Ukraine’s assault brigade advancing in the midst of battle through a land made barren by the war.
The assault, which the military said was taking place near the city of Bakhmut and aimed at capturing Russian trenches, included the soldiers taking cover in a trench while shooting at their enemy.
It also showed an explosion going off in the near distance, the force of which appeared to shake the ground where the troops were.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has reportedly made small advances near Bakhmut, the Donetsk city that has been one of the epicentres of the war on the eastern front and that was captured – after a months-long siege – by Russia in May.
