Ukraine LIVE: Heartbreaking video shows young girl removing rubble after Russian strike


The Ukrainian city of Dnipro has seen a frantic search and rescue operation launched after a Russian missile struck an apartment block on Saturday. The strike turned the building to rubble trapping scores and living at least five people dead along with 39 injured, among the casualties are reported to be seven children. Emergency services continue to search for survivors and 20 residents have been freed from the debris so far. A human chain of volunteers worked frantically to clear the site, with a video surfacing of a young girl eager to help move small rocks and debris. The strike on Dnipro came amid a large-scale rocket and drone attack by Russia across Ukraine on Saturday which is a continuation of the Kremlin’s efforts to cripple Ukrainian’s energy supply and the electricity grid. The reason the civilian apartment building in Dnipro was hit remains unclear, likely a result of Russian use of unguided munitions or due to the actions of Ukrainian air defense, it remains unclear. The capital Kyiv was also hit along with the Kharkiv and Lviv regions in the country’s east and west.
