Hot weather is set to sweep across the UK this week as temperatures reach 26C in some regions.
It’s been a warm weekend for most, with temperatures reaching the mid-twenties in London and parts of the midlands.
But it’s not over yet, with more high temperatures set to leave Brits sweltering this week before eventually cooling down.
Much of the south of England and the Midlands will reach 25C, say the Met Office, with temperatures of 26C expected in London on Tuesday and Wednesday.
York, Hull, Reading and Lincoln are forecast to see highs of 24C while Cardiff and Manchester could make it to 22C.
Scotland is predicted to top 21C in the capital.
The warmer conditions are expected to stay all week with limited drizzle and light winds only.
The Met Office said: “A largely dry day with sunny spells across England and Wales [on Monday], and feeling warm in the south. Blustery across Northern Ireland and Scotland with a mix of rain or showers.
“Remaining largely dry and warm across southern and eastern parts [this week] with some bright or sunny spells. Changeable across northern and western areas with a mix of sunshine and showers.”
Expert Phil Morrish told Express.co.uk: “Most of us will see a decent few days of warmer weather, making a change from all the rain.”
But for those who prefer cooler weather, it’s not all bad news as temperatures are set to drop as we head into September.
Highs of 21C are predicted for the week beginning August 28 – a stark contrast to the hot weather set to be experienced this week.
