UK storm latest: New maps show exact date more storm chaos will wallop into Britain

Britain is likely to be battered with another storm as weather maps show a huge wall of rain and wind hurtling towards the UK. The latest weather maps from WXCharts reveal that another storm will hit the UK with areas of Scotland enduring 115mm of rainfall, bringing more chaos to the weather conditions.

The most substantial and recurrent rainfall is expected in northwestern regions, often accompanied by episodes of strong winds. The maps between February 5 and 7 show several areas being lashed with heavy rainfall.

This time the most affected areas in England, according to the latest maps, seem to be London, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Manchester.

However, the wet and windy conditions will bring down the temperature levels as maps suggest that the mercury level will hover around 5-7C during that period.

The current prediction of the storm comes after the UK suffered aftermaths of two storms- Isha and Jocelyn that claimed many leaves while leaving many injured. There were reports of power cuts in many areas as well as travel disruptions causing discomfort to many.

An 84-year-old man lost his life during Storm Isha when the car, in which he was a front-seat passenger, collided with a fallen tree in Grangemouth, Falkirk, according to Police Scotland.

In another tragic incident, a man in his 60s died in a crash involving two vans and a fallen tree in Limavady, Co Londonderry, on Sunday night, as reported by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Just two days later, Storm Jocelyn wreaked further havoc on Britain, causing power outages for thousands of homes and subjecting commuters to another day of travel disruptions.

The 10th named storm of the season prompted an amber wind warning for parts of Scotland, while much of the UK was under a yellow alert. The Met Office recorded gusts of 97mph in Snowdonia/Eryri in North Wales, 79mph in Aberdaron, and 77mph in Cumbria.

The long-range forecast for the Met Office between January 29 and February 7 stated: “Cloud and outbreaks of rain gradually move northwards across the UK during Monday, heaviest in some western and northern areas with some southern parts dry.

“Through the remainder of the period, changeable with spells of rain at times, but also some drier, brighter interludes. The heaviest and most frequent rain will tend to be across northwestern areas and accompanied by periods of strong winds.

“Further south and east settled periods are likely to be more prevalent, with the best of any sunshine and drier weather here.

“Temperatures are expected to be milder than average overall, although this doesn’t preclude shorter, colder spells at times, with a risk of overnight frost and fog accompanying more settled conditions.”
