Trump signs waitress’ tank top and hands out pizzas as he blazes campaign trail

Donald Trump was greeted with an incredibly warm reception at Iowa, as a waitress asked him to sign her tank top.

The former President, enjoying a clear lead in the polls over Republican rivals and even a narrow one over Joe Biden, was in Maquoketa and Dubuque yesterday.

While at Kathy’s Treehouse Pub & Eatery in Bettendorf, he was filmed surrounded by supporters, who cheered him.

And one particularly enthusiastic woman asked Trump to sign her short as he met with voters.

While at the pub in Iowa, Trump handed out boxes of pizza to supporters before the woman asked for his autograph.

She was heard saying: “We’re so honored to have you here, thank you so much.

“We love you. My dad’s your number one fan and we all are.”

After signing the top corner of her tank top, Trump signed her forearm with his signature.

Other scenes from the restaurant saw fans sing along to Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA while Trump dished out high-fives and handshakes.

It comes after a Reuters/Ipsos poll looking at voter favorability showed that Trump is outperforming Biden in seven key states.

Trump leads Biden 41 percent to 35 percent in Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada and Michigan – These states were crucial for Biden’s 2020 election win.

Should the results be translated to the 2024 election, and assuming other states remain unchanged, Trump would comfortably retake the White House in 2024 with 312 electoral votes.

The poll was conducted between September 8 through September 14 among 4,413 adults with a +/-2 point margin of error.

Trump’s campaigning in Iowa marks the first of five visits through to the end of October, with the state’s Republican opting to back Ted Cruz in 2016.

In a speech at Maquoketa, the former President noted his primary loss to the Texas Senator, blaming his old campaign team.

“They didn’t do the caucus thing too well and I learned a lot,” Trump said, adding: “I don’t like second, though.”
