Tributes pour out to 'beautiful girl' after eight-month-old dies after car crash

Tributes have been pouring out for an eight-month-old baby who died early this morning (June 25) after suffering critical injuries in a car crash outside Withybush Hospital. Mabli Hall was injured following a collision between a car and pedestrians outside the hospital at 11:50am on Wednesday, June 21.

Mabli, described as “the most beautiful, smiley and happy baby girl”, was airlifted to University Hospital of Wales for treatment before being transferred to Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Over £19,000 has been raised by a GoFundMe set up to support her parents, Rob and Gwen, as well as her five siblings on Friday evening.

Sinead Morris, a family friend, who set up the fundraiser, announced the heartbreaking news this afternoon that baby Mabli had not survived her injuries.

She posted on Facebook: “It is with a heavy heart that I share this update on behalf of Malbi’s family and loved ones.

“As previously mentioned, little Mabli sustained severe injuries in the collision that took place on Wednesday, June 21st 2023.

“Unfortunately, these injuries were too severe to be reversed.”

She confirmed that Mabli had passed away in the arms of her parents in the early hours of this morning, Western Telegraph reports.

She said: “The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated healthcare professionals who have been involved in Mabli’s care throughout this challenging period.

“Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have meant the world to the family during these trying times. Additionally, the family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate chaplains of Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, whose guidance and support have brought solace and comfort.”

Sinead also announced that the GoFundMe would stay open, so people can continue donating to support Mabli’s family in this tough time.

She wrote: “The outpouring generosity from those who have donated and sent messages of love and support has touched their hearts deeply.

“They are immensely grateful for each and every gesture of kindness.”
