Touching moment Princess Charlotte leads way while holding little brother Louis' hand

The third-in-line-to-the-throne smiled and waved as she accompanied her mother and father, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and her older brother Prince George, aged nine, who is serving as Page of Honour. Young Prince Louis was also there as he clung onto his sister whilst walking through the packed Abbey.

George, Charlotte and Louis will join the newly anointed King and the Queen for the Coronation procession as they leave the Abbey following today’s ceremony.

They are expected to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony later to greet the thousands of well-wishers gathered in The Mall and watch the RAF Flypast.

The royal children have already experienced thrilling the crowds when they showcased their royal waves as they celebrated their great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at her Platinum Jubilee last year.

It’s been noted Charlotte has a sisterly authority over her brothers, often helping both to stick to royal behaviour. At the Trooping of the Colour in June last year she was photographed calming an over-enthusiastic Louis’s waving.

In photographs onlookers have noted the young princess bares a striking resemblance to her late great-grandmother, the Queen, who was known affectionately by the youngest royals as “Gan-Gan”.

To mark her eighth birthday an adorable photograph of Princess Charlotte taken by the Princess of Wales was released on May 2.
