Tottenham ‘plot Djed Spence swap deal bid’ for £30m player catching attention

Gudmundsson could be preferred over Werner ahead of a transfer meeting between Spurs and Genoa, in which the Italian club’s sporting director Marco Ottolini is likely to be in attendance. He admitted to interest in their top talents and not just from within Italy, as their Serie A rivals struggle to stump up the cash for Genoa’s Icelandic forward.

“Our team has players who are attracting interest,” Ottolini said. “These profiles are targets for a lot of teams, which is normal. There are players who are attractive not just within the Italian transfer market, but also internationally. However. We’re focusing on these last nine matches. That’s what we have to do at the moment.”

Should a swap deal be agreed upon between the two clubs for Gudmundsson, Spence could extend his stay in Italy and put an end to his two-year-long Spurs nightmare.
