Tottenham could make three more signings this month after Dragusin and Werner deals

Tottenham are making serious efforts to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s injury-ravaged squad in the January transfer window, having already confirmed the loan signing of former Chelsea striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. They are also hoping to beat Bayern Munich to Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin.

The Romanian defender is set to make a decision shortly on his future according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano after Spurs offered £25million and Djed Spence on loan for the remainder of the season. Bayern have offered a higher cash fee but without a player in return, but it is clear that the north London side mean business this month and could land a further three transfers in January.

They remain light in defence after injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, with Ben Davies also recently sidelined and Eric Dier potentially set to leave the club this month. A versatile and young defender could still be targeted and they have been linked with the likes of Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabiyo.

Kelly’s future at Bournemouth remains uncertain as his contract expires at the end of the season, he could certainly solve some issues at centre-back and left-back for Spurs and he may be available for a budget price in January.

Further up the pitch, Postecoglou continues to be linked with a reunion alongside his former Celtic star Jota. The Al-Ittihad winger has not enjoyed the perfect start to life in Saudi Arabia and could quit after just a few months in the Middle East.

With Son Heung-min away at the Asia Cup and the likes of James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic and Alejo Veliz sidelined through injury, Postecoglou may hope to work with Jota again to provide a further attacking impetus.

Another area of the Spurs team that has been decimated is in midfield, where Maddison has missed out in recent weeks while Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have jetted off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Football.London claim that Spurs are willing to listen to offers for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg once again, especially if they can find an adequate replacement in the same window. That signing may be the cherry on the cake if a defender and forward join after Werner and Dragusin.

Chelsea star Conor Gallagher continues to be linked with a move across London in order to help the Blues in their efforts to appease Financial Fair Play, but he will not come cheap and Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit are likely to demand in the region of £40m for the man who has captained them on several occasions this season.
