Tory MP Andrew Rosindell cleared by Met Police after lengthy investigation

Tory MP Andrew Rosindell has been cleared by the Metropolitan Police, who have spent nearly two years investigating an allegation into the Essex politician.

Mr Rosindell’s spokesman has announced that the Met conducted “a thorough investigation and concluded that there was no case to answer and that no further action would be taken”.

“Andrew has been completely exonerated. He has been working constantly for Romford throughout the past twenty-one months and will continue to speak up for the people of his beloved home town as their local MP.”

The news of the police investigation was announced in May 2022, but Mr Rosindell was not officially named until July 2023 when the Sunday Times broke the story.

He was asked to stay away from Parliament while the investigation was underway.
