A toddler has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by an XL Bully in London.
Paramedics rushed to the scene in Catherine Grove, Greenwich on Monday morning at around 10.10am.
The 20-month-old child was taken to hospital where their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.
Police have seized the dog, which they say is an American XL Bully after the beast and its owner were located by officers.
The owner, named as Thomas Ackah, has been charged.
He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court this morning.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called at 10.10am on Monday, October 2 to reports that a 20-month-old child has been bitten by a dog in Catherine Grove, SE10.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
“The child was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.
“The dog and its owner were located by officers. The owner was arrested and the dog was seized and taken to police kennels.
“On Tuesday, October 3, Thomas Ackah, (26.04.94), of Old Kent Road, SE1, was charged with being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog.
“He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 3. The dog was reported to be an XL Bully, however further tests are required to confirm this.”
