Three rules Harry and Meghan must obey to stay relevant – but they're failing so far

Stephen Galloway, the dean of Chapman University’s film school, explained how these appearances are important for the couple to improve their status as bona fide celebrities.

He told The Times: “It’s important to maintain them in the public eye. And this is why movies have premieres. This is why paparazzi are around.”

The expert went on to explain the three things the couple need if they are to build their careers in Hollywood: “No. 1 you need money. There is a big question about how much they have.

“No. 2, you need mystery. Well, when you’ve written a book like Harry’s memoir Spare, there’s no mystery left.

“And three, you need some kind of news. There’s not much news with them. So in the end, you become the moth fluttering around another light.”

Upon moving to California the Sussexes signed huge contracts with the likes of Netflix and Spotify to produce original content for the platforms, however their output so far has produced mixed results.

They had great success with their revelatory series Harry & Meghan, however earlier this summer it was announced that Spotify and Archewell had parted ways after just one series of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes.

Meghan and Harry may have been rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kelly Rowland and Kerry Washington, and David Beckham and Will Ferrell respectively, but it remains to be seen if they can hold onto their place in the limelight.

Their newest project for Netflix is said to be an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s romance novel Meet Me By The Lake, which they have reportedly bought the rights to.
