Three more arrests made after two teenagers murdered in Bristol


Three more arrests have been made by detectives investigating the deaths of two teenagers in Bristol, police said.

Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16, were stabbed following an incident in Ilminster Avenue, Knowle West on Saturday night.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of murder while a 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

All three are currently in police custody.

Avon and Somerset Police said the total number of people arrested as part of the inquiry was now eight.

The two teenagers’ family spoke out after the murders were confirmed, with them speaking of how their “lives will never be the same again”.

The pair were described as football mad and were brutally killed on Saturday night by a gang which reportedly fled in a car after the attack.

Among those to pay tribute include witness Kirsty Kidd, a neighbour, who told The Independent that Mason was beginning her help as he lay fatally injured in her ex-partner’s arms.

She said: “We tried everything, I just wanted them to be ok.”

In another tribute a woman, believed to be Max’s mother, described how her famiy’s life had been torn apart.

The post said: “Devastated, our lives will never be the same without you my boy,” Leanne Ekland posted, alongside a picture of the smiling teenager.”

His sister Kayleigh added on Facebook: “My baby brother… one of a kind you are. You sleep tight. A beautiful, kind soul gone. Just taken 16 years so young and innocent oh my heart is broken.

“I really hope you know how much we love you. How much I love you. You will be missed kiddo I’ll always look out for you in every sunset, shine bright lil’ bro.”
