Thousands on network 3 did not receive emergency test alert with bosses issuing statement

Three network acknowledged a number of its customers did not receive the notification issued as part of the Government’s UK emergency alert test. The test was carried out on Sunday at approximately 3pm and saw tens of millions of devices ringing with a siren-like sound while receiving a notification. However, some said they didn’t get the alert, which was issued to show Britons what an emergency test would look like in case of a possibly life-threatening emergency.

Many of the phone and tablet users who said to have missed out on the alert said to be Three network users.

The company said it was “aware” of the issue and to be looking into what happened.

A Three spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “We are aware that a number of customers have not received the test alert.

“We are working closely with the Government to understand why and ensure it doesn’t happen when the system is in use.”
