Thomas Markle's stinging swipe at Prince Harry despite plea to reconcile with Meghan

Thomas Markle made a stinging swipe at Prince Harry once again, this time during an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

During his appearance on Monday’s show, via video link, Thomas Markle sent yet another plea to reunite with his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle.

After discussing his daughter, including what message he would like to send out to her if he were to never see her in person ever again, Mr Markle discussed Prince Harry and his bitter feud with his elder brother, Prince William.

Speaking of the tension, Mr Markle stated that he does not think William and Harry will reunite – suggesting that this is all down to his son-in-law.

Taking a swipe at Harry, Mr Markle told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: “He’s not open to peaceful solutions I don’t think.”

Despite subtly blaming Harry, he also said he feels his daughter is very much to blame also.

He added: “And I don’t think either is Meghan. Unless both are onboard it’s not going to happen.”

It’s not the first time Thomas has made a swipe at his son-in-law. Speaking prior to the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which Thomas planned to attend before his health took a decline, Mr Markle referred to Harry as an “idiot” before bashing him for also “ghosting” his own father, the now-King on GB News.

In May, prior to the King’s Coronation, Mr Markle described Harry as “still a boy” when speaking out about his lack of contact with the Royal Family following the late Queen’s death.

This is the first time Meghan’s estranged father has spoken out since just after the King’s Coronation back in May.

Mr Markle, who will turn 80 next year, said that he stayed up all night to watch the ceremony at his own home in Rosarito, Mexico.

Speaking out about Meghan’s decision to not attend the Coronation alongside Harry, he believed it was “for the best” that she stayed in the US.

Due to having not spoken to Meghan for the past five years, Mr Markle said that he is “heartbroken” over what has happened.

The long-standing feud also means that Thomas has not met Meghan’s two children – his grandchildren – Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

He added: “I am very upset. This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent – to deny rights to see a grandchild. I’m a really loving father and she knows that, and there’s no excuse for treating me this way – no excuse to treat grandparents that way.”
