The UK's 48 'poshest' villages have been revealed – see if yours is on the list

Gorgeous UK villages are part of what make this country so appealing.

From their stunning chocolate box thatched cottages through to their tight knit communities – it’s little wonder that villages can be such a draw to those looking to put down their roots.

And a new rundown from The Telegraph has revealed the UK’s “poshest” villages, the length and breadth of the country.

Frances McDonald, director of research at estate agents Savills, says there are key reasons why people choose one village over another.

She said: “Our latest research indicates that proximity to a train station, place of work and family has become much more important for those searching for a new home – particularly as individuals are more likely to be commuting to the office multiple times a week,” reports The Telegraph.

She added: “While still important to some now, pandemic buyer wish lists favoured proximity to parks, shops, and local pubs and restaurants.”

Now, she says, needs have changed slightly as we venture back to the office – such as proximity to train stations, work and family.

But what’s the most important varies from buyer to buyer – be it access to education, idyllic countryside or decent broadband. The results were informed by where has the highest house prices, lifestyle amenities, connectivity and aesthetic appeal.

Here at Express.co.uk we often profile villages and towns across the country – talking about their best, worst and most unusual features.
