The UK seaside town named one of Britain's 'worst' but tourists love the beautiful beach

A seaside town in the UK that has been named one of Britain’s “worst” is still enjoyed by thousands of tourists for its beautiful beach.

Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire was among the worst seaside towns in a recent Which survey where over 3,000 people rated their experiences in the last year.

Located on the East coast adjacent to the village of Sutton-on-sea, Mablethorpe, in Lincolnshire, is between the popular seaside resorts of Cleethorpes and Skegness.

The town came third in the Top Ten worst seaside destinations in the UK:

However, the survey was rejected by the tourists who simply love the pristine beach located in the town.

On Trip Advisor’s website, there are over 700 reviews, with over 500 people giving it an “excellent” rating and 150 people as “very good”.

One person said: “We stopped off here while on a coach trip. The beach is lovely and clean and nice for a day out, plenty of places to get food and drink.”

A second user commented: “Absolutely love Mablethorpe beach. It’s spotlessly clean with lots of food places if you happen to want fish & chips, sweets, a cup of tea or coffee, donuts or an ice cream.

“There are plenty of benches to relax on while watching the waves crashing or listening to the fair music just behind you.

However, One person said: “It has the potential to be a really nice seaside town if only the council injected more money into it and if established businesses invested there.

“Unfortunately any new shop that does open usually closes within two years.

“One positive I will mention is how clean it is. The council workers who clean the streets will be out in all weather conditions tidying up, planting flowers to try to make it look nice.”
