If you’ve dined at Miller and Carter, you’ll know about the triple-layered serving of lettuce that arrives before your steak. The restaurant recently took to social media to provide a “wedgucation” on why they pair your steak with this leafy appetiser.

According to the food chain, the lettuce wedge is ‘a refreshing appetiser which perfectly compliments the rich flavours of steak’. It provides a cold crisp texture to accompany the succulent sirloin, Manchester Evening News reports.
