The ordinary looking £350k flat with an amazing secret inside that's UK's most viewed home

An ordinary two-bed flat with an amazing secret was the most viewed property on Zoopla this year. The East London property was marketed by Paul Takhar estate agents with an asking price of £350,000.

The two-bedroom flat appeared totally normal but no doubt appealed to football fans looking to buy a flat. Its balcony had a view overlooking the pitch at Leyton Orient’s football ground.

Inside the property, there was a spacious open-plan living area with a modern-looking kitchen with white cabinets and a separate dining area.

It also had two bedrooms, one of which was being used by a young child as it was painted in a bright pink colour. North London estate agent Jeremy Leaf, said: “Curiosity value is high when it comes to viewing properties online.

“This is almost certainly the case with the Leyton Orient flat; either that or the team has more potential supporters than one might think. Indeed, if the team becomes more successful on the pitch, the price of those flats will rocket.”

Zoopla said people were being more “realistic” in their searches with seven of the top ten most viewed properties being affordable family homes, or doer-uppers.

Daniel Copley, of Zoopla, said: “It appears that this year there may have been a shift away from the “property porn” viewing habits of many people on property websites.”

Other homes on the most-viewed list include a two-bed terrace up for auction in Liverpool for £25,000, a two-bed flat in London on sale for “275,000 and a five-bed detached home in North Yorkshire on sale for £300,000.

There were some higher-priced properties on the list though such as a nine-bed Elizabethan-style mansion in Hertfordshire for £15million and a six-bed home in Kensington, London, for £36.5million.
