Princess Kate is anticipated to be absent from various winter and spring commitments following her abdominal surgery at The London Clinic hospital. The Princess of Wales, 42, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday for the planned procedure which is said to be a routine one, Kensington Palace has announced.
The Royal is expected to remain in hospital for ten to 14 days.
She is expected to go back to her residence in Windsor, Berkshire, for ongoing recovery with the assistance of her family. The condition is reported to be non-cancerous.
It is anticipated that the Princess will receive guidance to rest and recover for a period of two to three months, with her resumption of official duties contingent upon medical advice as the time approaches.
Given the recent developments, it appears that the Princess of Wales will likely be absent from several events that are typically on her calendar during this time of the year in the coming weeks.
Due to the surgery, Kate is going to miss attending the annual BAFTA awards in London.
Last year, the Princess of Wales made a stunning entrance at the BAFTAs, engaging in a conversation with Austin Butler after his victory for his performance in Elvis.
She exuded the charm of a Hollywood star as she accompanied William to the glamorous event held at Royal Festival Hall in London.
For the occasion, the mother-of-three chose an Alexander McQueen one-shoulder gown, a garment she had previously worn to the same event in 2019.
Prince William has been the president of Bafta since 2010 and she first attended the event with her husband in 2017.
St. Patrick’s Day
Another significant event for the Princess in March is the St Patrick’s Day Parade. In the previous year, she and the Prince of Wales were esteemed guests at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, where William formally relinquished his honorary regimental position in favour of Kate.
Following her address to the Irish Guards, the mother-of-three dedicated time to engage with families and young royal enthusiasts present at the event.
Kate looked resplendent in a custom turquoise coat designed by Catherine Walker, harmonizing with the color of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards’ blue plume.
In her heartfelt speech, the Princess expressed, “I really couldn’t be prouder to stand in front of you here today. It truly is a genuine honour to be your Colonel. I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do – a responsibility I do not take lightly.”
There is an understanding that the Princess is not expected to participate in any events for St David’s Day in March.
In the previous year, Kate joined her husband, who was making his inaugural visit to the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards at Combermere Barracks in Windsor, having recently assumed the role of Colonel of the Regiment.
King Charles had occupied the role since 1975, and his son and heir assumed the position in December 2022.
Subsequently, the Prince and Princess interacted with numerous families of the Welsh Guardsmen, along with individuals from the Australian Army stationed in the UK to assist in training Ukrainian soldiers.
Additionally, a regular March fixture is the yearly Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
During the event last year, the Princess of Wales appeared as graceful as ever in a £3,000 Erdem ensemble and adorned a diamond Prince of Wales Feathers brooch – a thoughtful present from the King. The mother-of-three accessorised with dazzling two-tiered flower-shaped earrings, formerly owned by Princess Diana.
During the service, the King honored his “remarkable” mother while delivering his Commonwealth Day message for the inaugural time.
