As the PR expert pointed out, last year Netflix was forced to cut more than 450 jobs after reporting its first ever fall in subscriber numbers in April.
“If Netflix continues with this, the impact on the Princes will be huge, as it will be with the rest of the world and this could trigger a global boycott of the Netflix empire and the Crown too. It could spell the end of both the Crown and Netflix,” she warned.
Jordan James, Head of Key holders at Unlockd PR, also suggested the optics could be disastrous for Netflix.
“The recent images that have emerged of Netflix’s recreation of Princess Diana’s crashed Mercedes have sent shockwaves across the world, and while we all expected the show to touch on and depict the event, this level of detail borders on the macabre, and may signal a death knell to the media giant’s close relationship with Prince Harry,” he told Express.co.uk.
