Tesla workers run screaming from Texas gigafactory after active shooter false alarm

Workers at Telsa’s Gigafactory in Texas ran outside screaming after an active shooter alert was sent to their phones. It appears, however, to have been a false alarm.

An “active investigation” was taking place at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office has told Daily Express US.

Video and pictures from the scene appear to show workers fleeing the factory while police descend on the area. Local reports citing the Sheriff’s Office suggest there were “no casualties” following the incident.

Telsa employees reportedly received an emergency alert email on their phones this morning just before 5 am warning of an “active attacker” at the factory.

The purported message to employees read: “There is an active shooter near column location 35Z at the Giga Factory Texas. Please take cover and stand by for further details.”
