A popular snack has been pulled from several supermarket shelves after an urgent “do not eat” warning was issued.
Tesco, Asda and Morrisons have recalled versions of caramel bites due to an undeclared item not mentioned on the label, reported GB News.
Morrisons’ Market Street 18 Caramel Crispy Bites have been recalled as the product may contain eggs.
The retailer is recalling the product on all items dated up to December 12.
As a result, the customers have been urged not to consume the product and return it to a nearby store to get a full refund.
Asda’s 20-pack Chocolate Caramel Mini Crisp Bites may also contain egg and the 200-gram product is impacted for all dated up to and including December 14.
An allergen update said: “If you have purchased Asda Chocolate Caramel Mini Crisp Bites (200g) with t he above Best Before Dates, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.”
Tesco’s 20-pack Crispy Caramel Bites face the exact same problem but only on items dated up to and including December 4.
The supermarket added: “Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused.
“If you require further details, please contact Customer Services.”
Lidl issued a separate alert by recalling Deluxe Red Cabbage with Apple, Dried Cranberries and Spices.
