Terrifying simulation shows how West could crush Russia – killing more than 45 million

A full-blown NATO nuclear strike on Russia would kill over 45 million people, a terrifying new simulation has shown.

Ever since Vladimir Putin ordered his troops into Ukraine, the Kremlin has threatened to use its atomic arsenal should the West intervene directly in the conflict.

A host of Kremlin propagandists have hysterically threatened to unleash nuclear armageddon on NATO countries should they cross Moscow’s “red lines” in their support of Kyiv.

The Russian president has himself on many occasions warned that he is prepared to initiate the Apocalypse if need be.

Last month shortly before Presidential elections, the Kremlin tyrant ratcheted up his nuclear rhetoric in a TV interview.

In a blunt warning to Western leaders, Putin said he would not hesitate to push the atomic button if Russia’s sovereignty or independence was threatened,

This followed on from another declaration in February, when he told NATO that deepening its involvement in the fighting in Ukraine would risk a nuclear confrontation.

However, a new simulation shows the Russian President would do well to tone down his threats, given his country would face annihilation in a nuclear war with the West.

The simulation, which was shared on X by @historyinmemes, estimates that 45.3 million Russians would be wiped out in an attack.

It also showed that the entirety of the Russian mainland would be within range of Western nukes.

A 2019 simulation carried out by Princeton’s Science and Global Security programme and called “Plan A” showed how a limited tactical nuclear exchange in Europe could escalate into a full-scale global atomic conflict.

It estimated that 91.5 million people would die within hours and many more in the months and years afterward.

A Russian nuclear strike on the US homeland would look to decapitate American political and military leadership, sever vital command and control communication channels, nullify as many nuclear assets as possible, and devastate key industrial and commercial zones.

Recently leaked Russian military files revealed that the Kremlin’s threshold for using tactical nuclear weapons is lower than it has ever publicly admitted.

Criteria for a potential nuclear response range from an enemy incursion on Russian territory to more specific triggers, such as the destruction of 20 per cent of Russia’s strategic ballistic missile submarines.

Russia has a slight numerical advantage over the West when it comes to number of nuclear warheads.

Putin’s army boasts 5,997 atomic warheads, with the US arsenal consisting of 5,428 – according to ICAN (International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons).
