Teenage girl kicked and punched in violent attack filmed by laughing bystanders

Police have launched an investigation after a shocking video was shared online showing a teenage girl being repeatedly kicked and punched by two females in a park. The video, which was shared to Twitter on Monday, showed the girl being shoved to the ground before being punched and kicked at a park in Station Road, Ashby, on Saturday. The teenage girl attempts to protect her head as she’s stamped on by the two girls.

After the girl sits upright, the two attackers say something to her before dealing a final flurry of kicks and then walking off.

Leicestershire Police confirmed they have seen the video and have begun enquiries into the incident. The force said officers will be speaking to those involved.

The video was posted to Twitter by user @Deanceejay13 with the caption: “This happened to my younger step sister this weekend… wouldnt say boo to a ghost yet pissed up girls in the park jumped her???? Everyone share this please.”

A second video, posted in reply to the first, was filmed a few moments after the initial incident, which shows the same three girls as well as an older woman involved in another brawl. The older woman is claimed to be the victim’s mother and can be seen pulling the hair of one of the girls as she continues to attack her daughter.

Other adults are seen in the video, with one man attempting to separate the girls as they continue to fight with people heard telling them to “stop”.

Eventually, the fighting comes to an end after another man puts himself in between the two girls with another woman seen leading the mother away.

Twitter user @Deanceejay13, who is also the step-brother of the girl who was attacked, told MailOnline: “On Saturday evening the victim was alone in a park where she arranged to see her friends. Shortly afterward, she was then blindside and brutally attacked by two local girls. These girls set about their attack by stomping and kicking the victim multiple times whilst laughing, spiting and shouting abuse.

“Onlookers watched, encouraged and video recorded the brutality with not one person coming to the victims aid.”

He added: “More needs to be done to protect and prevent, in an age where social media can be used for so much wrong.

“The family hopes that the people are held responsible, the attackers the bystanders and let’s not forget the person watching, laughing and videoing.

He added: “She sustained head injuries in multiple places, hand injures, bruises on her hand, back, arms and legs, and cuts and grazes on her knees, head, shoulder and thighs.

“It is to be noted that these girls are still finding ways to send threats. I am appealing for information only. Please message police if you have any information: crime reference: 23*39239.”
