Synagogue leader found stabbed to death outside home in 'brutal murder'

A synagogue leader in Detroit, Michigan, was found “brutally murdered” outside of her home after being stabbed multiple times.

40-year-old Samantha Woll presided over the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue since 2022, and previously worked for Democratic politicians, according to the Detroit Free Press.

“I am shocked, saddened and horrified to learn of Sam’s brutal murder,” said Attorney General Dana Nessel, Woll’s former employer, in a statement.

“Sam was as kind a person as I’ve ever known. She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state and country. Sam truly used her faith and activism to create a better place for everyone.”

Police say there was a trail of blood leading up to Woll’s home and she was just found stabbed to death in front of her house on Saturday (October 21).
