Body language expert Judi James noted the “lack of proximity and touch” between the couple.
She told Daily Express US: “Flanked by her father and her son, Melania stood apart from her husband here although, despite the lack of proximity and touch, there was some subtle body language mirroring to suggest a mutual state of grief.
“Melania’s eyes were hidden by a pair of huge shades but her sadness was still visible in the subtle changes to her normally inscrutable body language.
“Both she and her husband appeared to adopt formal poses from their White House days, with Trump standing to attention with his chin raised and his lips pursed in what looked like a mark of respect, although their arms hung slightly to the front of their torso in a look of sadness.

“This was a very presidential-looking lineup with Barron showing some subtle signs of a desire to support his parents.
“As he stood between them his eyes scanned around while his parents’ gaze was fixed forward and there is a suggestion of a raised hand as his father began to button his jacket and walk down the steps as though he is keen to register a more caring attitude to his father.”
Melania fondly remembered her mum, Amalija Knavs, 78, as “a ray of light in the darkest of days” during a funeral service.
“In her presence, the world seemed to shimmer with radiance and joy,” Melania said about her mum as ex-President Trump, her husband, sat near her. “Our bond was unbreakable.” Melania shared that her mum celebrated their family’s victories and backed them up during tough times.
