Stunned friends pay tribute to ‘good’ family found dead in Hounslow tragedy

Devastated friends and neighbours have offered heartfelt tributes after four members of the same family were found dead at their home in Hounslow, west London.

Police named the four as Polish nationals Michal and Monika Wlodarczyk, aged 39 and 35 respectively, and children Maja, 11, and David, 3.

All were found at the property, in Staines Road, Bedmont, yesterday morning after officers forced their way in, having become concerned for their welfare. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Neighbours said Mr Wlodarczyk worked as a builder, while Mrs Wlodarczyk is believed to have been a cleaner at a hotel at nearby Heathrow Airport.

A picture shared on social media showed all four smiling for the camera, with Maja in what appears to be her communion dress.

Bedfont & Friends Community Group, which shared the picture on Facebook, commented: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this beautiful family.”

Speaking at the scene, an emotional Maria Gouveia, 37 said her daughter – who was in year six alongside Maja at nearby Southville primary school – attended a sleepover party at the house on May 31.

She said: “It’s tragic, her parents were really good people, hard workers.

“Maja was a lovely, beautiful girl, with a strong personality, but she had not been in school for a few days.

“People in her class were texting her, my daughter messaged her on Snapchat, it was not like her to go quiet.”

She added: “I think they were going to Mallorca for the dad’s 40th birthday very soon, that’s where I hoped they were when I heard about this.

“It’s shocking, the little boy was so sweet, he was going to start nursery in a few months, we are praying for them.”

Another mum, Naura Hooper, 46, said she used to take Maja out with her daughters.

She continued: “Maja was a nice girl, very intelligent and well-liked, the family were nice whenever I met them.”

Seema Malhotra, Labour MP for Feltham and Heston, tweeted: “Everyone will be devastated by news that two adults and two children have found dead in their home in Bedfont.

“Specialist investigations are ongoing our thoughts are with their family.

“If you have any information please do get in touch with the police.”

An officer was stood with his arms folded outside the property yesterday, while forensic investigators, wearing masks and gloves, worked at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to assure the community that specialist detectives are working to establish the circumstances which led to this tragic incident and we will provide further updates as soon as appropriate.

“Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by what has happened.”

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.
