Stormy Daniels will 'absolutely' testify against Trump in 'hush money' trial

Stormy Daniels said she will “absolutely” testify against former President Donald Trump if she is called to the stand in the trial of the decade. In an exclusive 90-minute interview with Piers Morgan, the adult film actress admitted she would be scared to testify publicly but is ready to do so to “legitimise” her story. But the star also said she does not think Trump should spend time in prison for the 34 charges he is facing for allegedly paying her to keep quiet about their sexual relationship.

The adult film actress added: “I mean any time you’re up in the public eye it’s scary. I mean, used to get scared giving an oral book report in school, so it’s daunting, but I look forward to it.

“You know what I mean? Because I have nothing to hide. I’m the only one that has been telling the truth.

“And, you know, you can’t shame me even more. So I feel like if they don’t, it paints the picture that they know something about me that makes me you know, untrustworthy, or not reliable.”

Ms Daniels also saidthe crimes Trump is alleged to have committed, including falsifying business records, are not “worthy of incarceration.”

She added: “I feel like the other things that he has done, if he is found guilty, absolutely, because a bigger problem is that if these allegations against him – or whatever else that we don’t know yet – he is found guilty or the evidence suggests that he is or whatever and he doesn’t, that it’s going to just basically…

“I mean it opens the door for other people to think they can get away with doing that and worse.”

Prosecutors said Trump conspired to undermine the 2016 presidential election by trying to suppress information that could harm his candidacy and then concealing the true nature of the hush money payments.

The payments were made to two women who claimed they had sexual encounters with him years earlier, and to a doorman at Trump Tower who claimed to have a story about a child Trump fathered out of wedlock, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office.

In addition to the criminal charges he is facing in New York, Trump is also under investigation by the Department of Justice over a series of classified documents recovered from several of his properties since he left the White House.

He is also still under heavy scrutiny over his role in the January 6 Capitol riot. He has been accused of inciting his supporters to storm the building as Congress voted to confirm Joe Biden’s election in 2020.

Trump is due back in court in December, but his lawyers asked that he be excused from attending that hearing in person because of the extraordinary security required to have him show up.

Prosecutors asked the judge to set a trial for January — weeks before the first votes will be cast in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Trump’s lawyers asked that it be pushed to the spring. The judge did not immediately set a date.
