'Soundest girl in world restored my faith in humanity after Magaluf mishap'

A lad has had his faith in humanity restored by the ‘soundest girl in world’ – who he never actually met –  after a holiday mishap in Magaluf.

The girl in question is a mystery good samaritan called Kirsty. Kind-hearted Kirsty helped reunite Dan Knight with the ID he lost in the Spanish party town.

Dan, 21, thought he’d never see his provisional driving licence again after he accidentally dropped it. So he was stunned when it arrived at his Sheffield home – with a handwritten note from ‘Kirsty in Scotland’.

The letter read: “Hello, I found this outside the Martinique Hotel in Magaluf on Tuesday. I checked with the hotel and you weren’t staying there. Checked social media but couldn’t find you.

The letter explained how Kirsty had found Dan’s ID outside a hotel, but she had been told he wasn’t staying there. So thoughtful Kirsty took it back to Scotland with her, and popped it in the post for him.

“So I brought it home to Scotland to send on to you when I got home on Wednesday. I hope this finds you. Kirsty.”

Dan, a history and Politics student, is now keen to track down Kirsty to thank her. He told the Daily Record: “I returned home and it arrived a few days later. I couldn’t stop grinning when I read it. It was sent with a first class stamp as well! It’s such a nice gesture.

“No one knows who she is and I’m desperate to say thank you properly. Kirsty, wherever you are, you are the soundest girl in the world.”

“These days you never expect someone to go out of their way to do something for a stranger. It has restored my faith in humanity.”
