Snooker scores: British Open final latest as Mark Selby and Mark Williams collide

Mark Selby meets Mark Williams in the British Open final today (Sunday) at the Centaur in Cheltenham. Selby is bidding to win the 23rd ranking title of his career, but the three-time world champion has not won the British Open crown before.

The world No 5 cast aside Xiao Guodong 6-0 in his semi-final clash on Saturday evening. He faces Williams, who has won the British Open crown on two occasions – his last coming in 2021.

Williams is currently ranked world No 10 and came through his semi-final against Hossein Vafaei 6-3. The Welshman’s last ranking victory came at the 2021 British Open, he was beaten finalist in this year’s Champions League.

Ronnie O’Sullivan was a notable absence from this week’s tournament, having announced that he was withdrawing due to ‘medical reasons’. The final is due to get underway at 1pm, with television coverage starting at 12.45pm on itv3.
