Smiling Meghan Markle hailed 'an inspiration' as she poses with pals in matching t-shirts

Meghan Markle has been described as an inspiration by a friend as the Duchess of Sussex appeared in a set of candid photos posted on Instagram. Wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt with “Love like a mother” written in a red font across it, Meghan embraces two pals, Kelly McKee Zajfen and Abigail Spencer in the shots.

The latest pictures were shared on the Alliance of Moms Instagram account ahead of Mother’s Day in the US, which falls on May 12.

Ms McKee Zajfen commented: “When we speak about the people in our lives who lift us up when you need it with undeniable force of pure love I think of these two. You inspire me. You pick me up when I need it and you Love Like A Mother!”

She thanked Meghan, 42, and Ms Spencer, also 42, for continuing to support Alliance of Moms, adding: “In doing so, you are supporting the mission to build bright futures for young parents who have experienced foster care.”

The trio’s matching tops were created by the organisation, which was co-founded by Kelly, who lost her son George aged nine in July 2022.

Ms McKee Zajfen wrote: “In honor of Mother’s Day, I hope YOU support this campaign, and #LOVELIKEAMOTHER.”

Proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will go towards the Alliance of Moms’ work with young parents in foster care and their children.

This is the second time the Duchess of Sussex has modelled one of the charity’s tops, with the mother of two posing with Ms McKee Zajfen in a T-shirt featuring flowers and the words “community” and “motherhood” in 2023.

This year’s post has been liked more than 4,000 times and amassed a slew of comments from fans. One Instagram user wrote in response: “Love to see women support women, mothers support mothers, friends support friends.”

Another wrote: “Beautiful! This is what happiness looks like!” While a third said: “Love love love this. Mothers.”

This week saw the Duchess of Sussex launch the first product from her new business venture – a jar of strawberry jam.

Meghan sent her pals a limited edition jar of the preserve ahead of her brand, American Riviera Orchard, formally bringing out a range of items.

Fashion designer Tracy Robbins posted two images of the jam jar, which the Duchess sent nestled in a basket of lemons. Her jar was numbered “17 of 50” and she posted an image of the gift on her Instagram account with the words “Breakfast, lunch and dinner just got a little sweeter”.

Scant details have been released about Meghan’s new project, but a trademark application filed in February shows the company plans to offer downloadable and printed recipe books, table wear, textiles, jams and marmalades, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.
