The battle to win this year’s Six Nations appears to be shaping up nicely, with defending champions Ireland on course for successive Grand Slams after big wins over France and Italy. England have also made a strong start with two victories from as many games as they look to run Ireland close at the top of the table.
Scotland began their campaign with a narrow victory over Wales in Cardiff, surviving a late fightback to edge out Warren Gatland’s side by a single point. They went on to lose in their second match against France, with a controversial TMO decision ruling out a late try that would have seen them come up trumps.
Wales, meanwhile, are the only team apart from Italy to have lost both of their opening games following their latest defeat to old rivals England. Their next test will arguably be their hardest yet, with Ireland the heavy favourites ahead of next weekend’s meeting at the Aviva Stadium.
