Sir Jim Ratcliffe shows up Glazers as INEOS chief takes action after watching Man Utd

Prospective Manchester United director Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly met with members of the club’s supporters’ trust MUST in a clear bid to get an easy win over the Glazer family. Ratcliffe has been in England over the past few weeks and on Sunday attended his first Red Devils match since the announcement that the British billionaire had reached an agreement to buy a quarter of the Premier League club.

The INEOS chief watched on alongside Sir Alex Ferguson as United drew 2-2 with Tottenham. He is awaiting the confirmation that he has passed the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test.

Ratcliffe has reportedly bid around £1.4billion to buy up to 25 per-cent shareholdings in United, where he is expected to overhaul the sporting department. The 71-year-old has already been putting plans in place for when he is able to formally begin his new role.
