He told the officers: “I don’t know what happened. It just went off… What happened?”

Police in Fairfield, Ohio, claim Robinson Jr, 23, set the woman on fire in an upstairs room, and that she jumped from a second-story window to get away.

Neighbour Dennis Williams told local outlet WKRC his dogs alerted him to the chaos, and said when he ran outside he found the unnamed girlfriend covered in burns.

“Water with gasoline, he threw it on her,” Williams told dispatchers in the 911 call.

The body camera footage shows Robinson Jr looking shocked on camera when officers told him the victim, whom he referred to as his stepmother, had made it out of the house.

“Your stepmother jumped out the back,” an officer said on the body cam footage.

“Oh, she did?” he said back, before being put in handcuffs.

The 23-year-old is charged with aggravated arson and felonious assault and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
